Fiesta Village

Part of Knott’s since 1969, Fiesta Village is themed to Mexican and Aztec cultures.  Fiesta Village is home to two major roller coasters, Montezooma's Revenge and the family-friendly Jaguar.  Fiesta Village is also home to numerous flat rides such as The Dragon Swing, La Revolucion, Wave Swinger and Hat Dance.  A classic Denzel Carousel is the crown jewel of the village.

Montezooma's Revenge opened at Knott's in 1978, and is arguably the most iconic roller coaster at Knott's.  This Anton Schwarzkopf-designed favorite is the only Shuttle Loop left in the United States and one of only three flywheel models left in the world!

Knott's Fiesta Village - Montezooma's Revenge
Knott’s has maintained Montezooma’s Revenge very well over the years.  It’s a classic ride and a sentimental favorite. I hope it will stay in Knott’s roller coaster  line-up for years to come.

Knott's Fiesta Village - Jaguar
Jaguar transformed the look and feel of Fiesta Village when it opened in 1995.

Knott's Fiesta Village - Jaguar
Younger reader won’t recognize the site of Jaguar’s station, but the Mayan temple replaced the teen dance club – Studio K.  Back in the 80’s, Studio K and Cloud 9 were the places to go on a Saturday night.  As time marched on and trends changed, Studio K began to attract a kind of crowd that Knott’s wasn’t interested in.  It quietly closed in the early 1990’s.

Knott's Fiesta Village - Jaguar
One of the most entertaining elements of Jaguar! is its length.  This is a long ride featuring two lift hills and a trip all the way out to the Log Ride and back.

Jaguar whisks riders under Silver Bullet then ends with a gentle, but fun helix.

Knott's Fiesta Village - Dentzel Carousel
Knott's carousel is a classic Dentzel carousel.  The carousel has 52 animals and two chariots and is considered to be one of the finest examples of the "golden age" carousels still in operation.

It was originally located at Hershey Park in Hershey, Pennsylvania before it was brought to Knott's in 1955 by Walter Knott.

  1. Case you forgot to include that the Fiesta Village once had the Grand Slammer, a Chance Falling Star, and the Tampico Tumbler. They were both added in 1987 and removed in 2003 in favor of the La Revolucion.

  3. Another note: Studio K opened in 1984 and closed in 1991.
